Organic Food means food that is grown without pesticides, dangerous chemicals, hormones or genetically altered seeds. Foods that contain these additives are called GM Foods or Genetically Modified Foods. GM foods began roughly in the 1960s when the technology was new and cloning was becoming a more interested topic of discussion. Companies began to sell the idea of Robo Vegetables able to withstand weather, disease, and insects. The idea took off and resulted in millions of dollars of damages and ruined thousands of acres of farm land. GM foods are still being grown today because of how cheap it is to produce and grow. |
